Ten-Hut!  Get ready to use your brain, your body and your imagination during this fun-filled, educational week.  We will play math and language arts games, write a book report for the required summer reading book, as well as spend time readin’, writin’ and doing ‘rithmetic!  We’ll spend some time on the computer and outside, too!  Pack a lunch, your tennis shoes, and your best attitude as we work the most important muscle in the body this week… the BRAIN!

Camp Kindergarten

Is your child excited about Kindergarten?  We are offering a week long camp for Kindergarteners.  We will focus on Kindergarten readiness skills in a fun and relaxed environment.  Explore the Lakehill campus and meet the Kindergarten teachers.  Come join us for a week of fun!

 “I’m mad!” “That’s not fair!” “I’m not like them!” Does this sound familiar?  Help your child understand his/her feelings by enrolling in this one week camp.  We will explore different ways of handling every day situations.  What makes us mad? Happy? How can we make others feel welcome? What make us unique?  Join us for a week of activities that encourage your child to understand his/her feelings.

Fun with Frog and Toad

Discover the joys of writing and science with the help of Frog and Toad.  Students will have fun while enjoying an array of activities in order to build reading comprehension and writing skills.  Campers will also view frogs and toads in a scientific light while exploring the exciting world of reptiles and amphibians.

Getting Ready for Fourth Grade

Fourth grade is the year that bridges the gap between Lower School and Middle School.  Practice the fundamentals of math, grammar, writing, map skills, and science to get the fourth grade year off to a great start!  Each day will focus on a new theme, with projects to take home.

Get some tips on how to be prepared for the academics and extracurricular fun of Lakehill Middle School. In addition to general advice on organization, each day will focus on a different part of the school calendar and a different academic subject.

MathQuest

Instructor: Marilyn Auvermann

Location:          Rm. 212

Dates offered: Session I June 23-27

                        Session II July 7-11

Entering Grades:5-6

Class size:         4 min, 10 max

MathQuest is a one-week experience designed to nurture the transition from concrete to abstract patterns and processes that are characteristic of fifth and sixth grade math.  An initial screening for concept gaps will be followed by carefully designed individual and small group activities.

SAT Prep Class

Instructor: Mr. Cohen, Mrs. McCarty

Location:          Rm. 153

Dates offered: July 21 – Aug. 1

Time:    Times:  9:00 – 12:00 (Class 1 Mon.7/21 will be 9-1 and Class Thurs. 7/31 will be 9-1)

Entering Grade: 9 – 12

Class size:         6min, 20 max

Fee:                  $800(includes cost of course materials)

Course will familiarize students with the format and material on SAT.  Testing strategies, English, Writing, and Math will be covered.  Students begin by taking a diagnostic test.  Class 9 will be a final Practice Test.  Class 10 will be a recap of Testing Strategies and analysis of the final Practice Test.  Students will spend equal time in Math and Verbal preparation.
