A Lakehill education is founded on a belief in limitless learning. For students to discover their own path to success, they need the opportunity to try things. From athletics to advanced academics, from independent studies to lead in theater productions, every student is given the freedom to choose their own path.

Head of School

Lakehill Preparatory School welcomed Art Hall to campus on July 1, 2021 as its 6th Head of School and the first person of color to lead the K-12 educational institution founded as a school for progressive learning in 1971.

Mr. Hall holds B.A. degrees in Political Science and History from UCLA and earned a Master’s in Education from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Hall has over 25 years of educational experience; additionally, he has worked in schools from coast-to-coast. He currently serves on the Standards Committee of the Independent School Association of the Southwest (ISAS). As a board member of the Ferguson Road Initiative (FRI), Mr. Hall has a vested interest in the growth and prosperity of east and far east Dallas. In leadership and respect for all, Mr. Hall greets all with enthusiasm; moreover, his calling within education is to bolster the experiences of those students, and their families, who are new to the independent school experience. 

Mr. Hall was raised in Riverside, California, outside of Los Angeles. His wife, Paula, a native of Pittsburgh, attended Clarion University where she earned a B.A. in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. She has taught lower school, coached, and led volunteer efforts at various schools throughout their family’s journey. They have three children, an adult son who resides in north Texas, and two daughters, Kennedy ‘26 and Mara ‘27, who attend Lakehill.
