The objectives of both the primary and intermediate Lower School Spanish Language Program are achieved through audio-lingual methods. Materials used include flash cards, educational Spanish games, puppets, vocabulary posters, music, story books, PowerPoint visuals, age-appropriate Spanish web activities, handouts on a variety of topics, and cultural videos.
The goal of Lakehill’s Lower School Spanish Language Program in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade is three-fold: to promote an enthusiasm for learning the Spanish language, to teach Spanish vocabulary related to the life of a primary child, and to familiarize primary students with holidays celebrated by Spanish-speaking people.
The goal of Lakehill’s Lower School Spanish Language Program in third grade and fourth grade is also three-fold: to develop Spanish listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, to aid the students in the acquisition of additional Spanish vocabulary, and to teach the students cultural aspects of the people for whom Spanish is their first language.
