Computer Science and Technology
Lakehill Preparatory School prides itself on teaching students the importance of using technology in their everyday learning. From kindergarten to twelfth grade, technology is integrated into the daily curriculum.
Lower School students are exposed to developmentally appropriate software in their classrooms to enhance skills in language arts, math, science, and social studies, and to reinforce classroom instruction. In addition, technology standards are delivered to students through regularly scheduled computer instruction in a dedicated Lower School computer lab.
Students are taught typing and other basic skills used for navigating Microsoft Office and internet browsers. At appropriate levels, students are presented with computer network and information technology concepts, computer-based communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills, and an ability to use computer applications to write reports, analyze data, and present results. Furthermore, the technology specialist utilizes computer skills to reinforce what students are learning in their classrooms, especially material in language arts, math, social studies, and science.
