Community Service

Lakehill Preparatory School students are involved in Community Service from kindergarten through Grade 12. Through community outreach, Lakehill teaches students to embrace a sprit of volunteerism in the hopes of fostering a life-long passion for service.

Throughout the school year, Upper School students are involved in a variety of community service projects. Community service initiatives involving Upper School students include volunteering at special events for preschools, organizing the annual Holiday Luncheon for senior citizens, delivering and sorting food, spending time with the elderly, working with the homeless, and tutoring younger students, among many others.

Middle School students are actively involved in Lakehill’s Recycling Program by routinely collecting and recycling various items. Students also actively participate in the Adopt-A-Shoreline program at White Rock Lake, volunteering monthly to preserve this neighborhood treasure. Lakehill was named the Adopt-A-Shoreline Volunteer Group of the Year in 2010, 2016, and again in 2019. These programs educate our students about the world’s natural resources and the benefits of using them in a sustainable manner.

Lakehill Upper School students complete thousands of hours of volunteer service throughout the year, partnering with a variety of community organizations. Class and club service projects are ongoing throughout the year, as well as frequent service opportunities through the Warrior Outreach Organization (WOO). Lakehill is an official Adopt-a-Shoreline sponsor of For The Love of The Lake and participates in group clean-ups every month. Lakehill was selected as the Adopt-A-Shoreline Volunteer Group of the year in 2010, 2016, and again in 2019. Lakehill also sponsors a monthly route with Meals on Wheels. Each year many Lakehill students are honored with the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
