The mathematics program at Lakehill Preparatory School is designed to guide students toward becoming skilled, thoughtful, and creative problem solvers able to utilize the tools of mathematics in other disciplines. The mathematics faculty helps students acquire a rational understanding of mathematics by including in the curriculum age-appropriate activities with concrete materials and applications to science, business, and relevant experiences.
In the Upper School, mathematics is required each of the four years for graduation. Completion of Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-calculus are required. Introductory Statistics, AP Statistics, Calculus, and AP Calculus are options for a fourth year, if needed. Students may opt to take some courses concurrently and accrue more than four years of credit in mathematics.
