Imagine
the excitement of the group of parents who met in 1970 to explore the
possibility of starting a new private school in Dallas! The goal was to
establish an independent, college preparatory school of outstanding
quality and credentials in the Lakewood/East Dallas community. Lakehill
Preparatory School emerged from that meeting and opened for students in
the fall of 1971.
Lakehill is an established, highly regarded,
fully accredited prep school with two campuses for students in
kindergarten through twelfth grade. The main campus located on Hillside
Drive in the heart of Lakewood, sits on six acres and includes 48,000 square feet of classrooms, a gymnasium,
an auditorium, two libraries, and multiple science and computer
labs. Built in 2001, the 17-acre Roger L. Perry Complex is home to a
football stadium, baseball field, and softball field. The Beyond the Horizon Capital Campaign initiated in 2004 provides for
continued growth and development at Lakehill. Major renovations to
the Hillside campus were completed during the summer of 2006. The
construction of an Environmental Science Center, tennis courts, and
additional parking at the Perry campus will commence in the fall of
2006. Future plans involve expansions and further renovations at
the Hillside campus.
