Art

The visual arts program at Lakehill Preparatory School gives all students from kindergarten through twelfth grade the opportunity to express themselves visually.  Students are given assignments that emphasize a creative approach to subject matter and composition.

All students in Lower School are required to take art two times a week.  During this course of study, students are exposed to a wide variety of media to develop skills using the elements and principles of design.  By fourth grade, students become more focused on observational projects, learning to represent three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface.

Additionally, art assignments frequently tie into the social studies curriculum at each grade level.  This interdisciplinary approach allows students to gain a better understanding of the cultures being studied.
