Foreign Language
In Middle School, students have the opportunity to study Latin, Spanish, and French.
In both fifth and sixth grades, students take a semester enrichment course in Spanish focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
In seventh and eighth grades, students are required to study Latin, where they learn the basic structure of the Latin language as well as the basic skills essential to the acquisition of a foreign language.
A French introductory course is offered to seventh and eighth grade students as a Middle School elective. Students are introduced to functional vocabulary, basic grammar concepts, general rules of pronunciation, and an understanding of the French people and their history. |
