Meet Mary Kate Katz,
Lakehill’s Warrior Fund Coordinator

Lakehill is thrilled to introduce Mary Kate Katz, who has joined our team as Lakehill’s new Warrior Fund Coordinator! Mary Kate brings a deep love for people and community, along with a passion for meaningful connection and creative expression. Though originally from the East Coast, Mary Kate has called Dallas home since 2003. After spending the last few years living and working in upstate New York, she’s excited to be back in the city she loves. While in Ithaca, she worked in development at Cornell University, raising support for both the Johnson Museum of Art and the Atkinson Center for Sustainability.

Mary Kate is a proud alumna of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, where she studied music and developed her love for the arts. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from SMU and later completed a master’s in History-Museum Studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program at SUNY Oneonta. Her background in the arts, education, and philanthropy uniquely positions her to build on the strong tradition of giving here at Lakehill.

Family is everything to Mary Kate, and she’s grateful to have her parents, siblings, and extended family all nearby in the Dallas area. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their loved ones—and their two charming pugs, Edith and Louise. A lifelong creative, Mary Kate loves crafting of all kinds, from knitting and quilting to needlepoint and just about any hands-on project you can imagine.

At her core, Mary Kate is a deeply passionate person—about her work, her people, and her pursuits. She values kindness, empathy, and hard work, and brings those principles to everything she does. One piece of advice that’s stuck with her over the years came from a beloved voice teacher who once told her, “You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the orchard, but if someone doesn’t like peaches, they’re not going to like you.” It’s a lesson in authenticity and self-acceptance that she carries with her still.

Mary Kate is constantly inspired by her parents, who have modeled lives of service, generosity, and integrity. As she begins her first year at Lakehill, she’s looking forward to meeting the students, parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends who make this community so special. Her goal is to build relationships rooted in gratitude and to support the Warrior Fund with transparency and enthusiasm.

The best part of any role she’s held in development has been the chance to connect with and learn from the people who make a place thrive. She’s already felt the warmth and dedication of the Lakehill community and can’t wait to work alongside families, faculty, and staff to make great things happen.

Please join us in welcoming Mary Kate!
