Lower School – Kindergarten to 4th Grade

Philosophy

Lakehill’s Lower School is a place where everybody knows your child’s name. Lakehill is – and always has been – small by design. We believe that students in a close-knit community of learners will acquire strong academic skills, develop decision-making characteristics, and problem-solving techniques, and helps them become citizens who are respectful of others and strive to make the world a better place.

The Lower School program reflects the best of traditional elementary education enhanced by modern educational best practices. Lakehill offers a teacher-led, child-centered curriculum that builds a solid foundation for future success.

Students work both independently and cooperatively while pursuing an academic program that is challenging and motivating. The curriculum for Lower School progresses from developmental to more complex skills, leading to Middle and Upper School programs designed for college entrance.

Lower School classes are enriched with specialized teachers in Spanish, music, art, physical education, computers, and library. Lower School students also benefit from a wide variety of clubs, extracurricular sports and activities, and community service opportunities.
